My Background

Does “talking” really help? Overwhelmingly, the research says, “yes.” Symptoms of depression and anxiety can diminish when we enter into healthy relationships, including a counseling relationship. Perhaps, in our distress, we feel stuck, unable to identify many options to help us go forward. We may need a safe harbor, and a little thought-provoking guidance.

My education includes a Bachelors degree from Westmont College (Santa Barbara), a Masters degree from San Diego State University, and the completion of doctoral-level coursework at the California Graduate Institute of Psychology (all but dissertation).

My experience includes a private psychotherapy practice in San Diego County (North County Family Counseling), executive leadership at Focus on the Family and the California Family Council, serving as the Chief of Staff at Friends Church Yorba Linda and directing the Center for Individual and Family Therapy (CIFT).

As a psychotherapist, my joy comes in helping people regain foot-holds in their pursuit of hope and growth.
